Mr. R. C. Mitchellasked the Secretary of State for Education and Science what representations she has received concerning the operation of Statutory Instrument 1234 which came into operation on 1st September 1973.
§ Mrs. ThatcherAbout 50 letters were received from various sources. A number of these concerned the allowance for the first child where there is no adult dependant. The weekly rate of this allowance in respect of term-time has since been increased from £2.02 to £4.81.
