§ Mr. CarlislePolice authorities have been advised by circular that a new establishment will have to be submitted and approved for each of the new forces which will operate from 1st April 1974. Representations have been received only from the Police Federation, which is being assured that the arrangements in the circular are designed to meet the special situation resulting from local government reorganisation and that they do not affect the existing arrangements for the regular review of establishments.
