§ Mr. Charles Morrisonasked the Prime Minister what changes in ministerial responsibility for nature conservation are to accompany the establishment of the Nature Conservancy Council.
§ The Prime MinisterMy right hon. and learned Friend the Secretary of State for the Environment has by order appointed 1st November 1973 as the day from which the Nature Conservancy Council commences to discharge its functions. From that date he will take over from my right hon. Friend the Secretary of State for Education and Science her general responsibilities for nature conservation, including those for general policy towards endangered species.
