The Health Services and Public Health Act 1968 allows authorised accommodation and services to be made available for the private patients of practitioners holding honorary or paid National Health Service hospital appointments.
The Human Tissue Act 1961 requires that the removal of any part of a dead body for therapeutic purposes or for the purposes of medical education or research shall be effected only by a fully registered medical practitioner.
