§ Mr. Sheldonasked the Secretary of State for Trade and Industry how much money has now been spent on Concorde.
§ Mr. Michael Heseltinec: By 30th April, the British Government had advanced approximately £423 million on the development of Concorde and £62 million on production. Comparable sums have been invested in the aircraft by the French Government.
§ Mr. Sheldonasked the Secretary of State for Trade and Industry if he will publish a list showing the number of Concordes produced, the number in the course of production, and the number of Concordes for which long-dated materials and components have been ordered both for the French and British Concordes.
§ Mr. Michael HeseltineTwo prototype and two preproduction Concordes have been manufactured and are now engaged on the flight test programme. Sixteen production aircraft are now in course of production. None of these is yet complete. Long-dated materials have been ordered for a further six aircraft—Nos. 17–22.
