HL Deb 15 May 1973 vol 342 c808WA
THE EARL OF BESSBOROUGH

asked Her Majesty's Government:

Whether they have now considered the request from the Design Council for an increased grant-in-aid?

THE PARLIAMENTARY UNDERSECRETARY OF STATE, DEPARTMENT OF TRADE AND INDUSTRY (THE EARL OF LIMERICK)

Yes. In order to enable the Council to develop its engineering design activities and to open a small office in Wales, we intend to increase the Council's grant-in-aid in the current financial year by £175,000 to a total of £870,000. Parliamentary approval for the additional expenditure involved will be sought by means of a Supplementary Estimate.

House adjourned at twenty-three minutes past nine o'clock.
