§ Mr. PeytonThe maximum permitted lead content of petrol was reduced this year to 0.64 grammes per litre and is to be progressively reduced to 0.45 grammes per litre by the end of 1975. Proposals for further reductions are being discussed in the EEC. The limits are set in a British Standard (BS 4040). I propose to seek legislative powers to enable standards to be prescribed in regulations.
