asked the Secretary of State for Scotland what is the average number of patients on general practitioners lists in Scotland; and how this compares with the patient/doctor ratio in Grangemouth.

Mr. Gordon Campbell

As at 1st October 1972, the average number of patients on general practitioners' lists in Scotland was 2,036. The corresponding figure for Grangemouth was 3,061.

asked the Secretary of State for Scotland what is the average number of patients under 16 years of age on general practitioners' lists in Scotland; and how these figures compare with the figures for the same age group in Grangemouth.

As at 1st October 1972, the average number of patients aged 65 and over on the lists of general practitioners in Scotland was 262. The figure for the same age group in Grangemouth was 274.
