HL Deb 08 May 1973 vol 342 c401WA
THE EARL OF SELKIRK

asked Her Majesty's Government:

How many appeals are now before the Department of the Environment from persons who have been refused permission to build houses on their property.

LORD SANDFORD

My right honourable friend the Secretary of State for the Environment regrets that this information is not readily available. There are at present over 15,000 appeals before the Department and the special analysis of them that would be required in order to furnish the details sought would involve disproportionate cost.
