HC Deb 04 May 1973 vol 855 c368W
Mr. Knox

asked the Secretary of State for Social Services what was the rate of infant mortality in Biddulph urban district in the two most recent years for which figures are available.

Mr. Alison

The provisional number of deaths of infants under one year of age in the Biddulph urban district was five in 1972 compared with 12 in 1971, which represents rates per 1,000 live births (infant mortality rate) of 15 (provisional) and 31, respectively.
