§ Mr. Sheldonasked the Chancellor of the Exchequer if he will publish a table showing the current rate of interest earned by retaining saving certificates issued before the current issue and showing the value of such certificates.
§ Mr. Nott,pursuant to his reply [OFFICIAL REPORT, 30th April 1973; Vol. 855, c. 250] gave the following information:—
Such a table is published in leaflet SL428 entitled "Present Yield on National Savings Certificates" issued by the National Savings Committee and available free on request from their offices and local committees. A similar table is published in the booklet "Investing in National Savings" issued free by the National Savings Committee to bank managers and others professionally engaged in giving investment advice.
