§ 22. Mrs. Joyce Butlerasked the Secretary of State for the Home Department what consideration he has given to the hazard in toilet preparations from tribro-mosalicylamilide and trichorocarbanils when used as alternative to hexachlorophane; 370W and if he will seek the advice of the Poisons Committee on the desirability of banning the use of all these substances in soaps, deodorants and vaginal sprays.
§ Mr. LaneThe properties of both substances are well known and I have no reason to doubt that manufacturers take due precautions. Both substances are among those being considered by the EEC working group concerned with the draft directive on cosmetics and toilet preparations; and I see no need to refer them also to the Poisons Board.
