§ Mr. Worsleyasked the Secretary of State for the Home Department whether, as requested by the hon. Member for Chelsea on 1st June 1972, he will now refer to the Court of Appeal the case of Basil Sands.
§ Mr. CarlisleI have carefully considered the representations made by Sands and by my hon. Friend and others on his behalf, but, on the information at present before me, I can find no grounds on which my right hon. Friend would be justified in exercising his power to refer the case to the Court of Appeal under Section 17 of the Criminal Appeal Act 1968.
