HC Deb 13 March 1973 vol 852 c312W
Mr. Faulds

asked the Minister of Defence whether the 1947 civil air agreement with the Sultan of Muscat and Oman is still in force; and to what extent it has been replaced by the agreement provided for in the 1958 Exchange of Letters.

Mr. Amery

I have been asked to reply.

The 1947 civil air agreement with the Sultanate of Muscat and Oman was concluded for a term of seven years with the option of renewal. It was renewed in 1954 for a further four years. In 1958 it was replaced by a new civil air agreement as provided for in the 1958 Exchange of Letters (Command 507). The 1958 civil air agreement lapsed in 1962 but its terms and conditions continued to he observed until January 1972, when a new air services agreement was signed.
