§ Mr. Moateasked the Chancellor of the Exchequer what projected rate of inflation is being proposed by the EEC Commission in preparation of the Community Budget for 1973–74 and for subsequent years.
§ Mr. NottThe 1973 Community Budget is based on the prices ruling at the time it was prepared, i.e. the second half of 1972. It does not itself contain forecasts of price movements. The Commission's own budgetary forward look for 1973–75 assumes that the administrative expenditure of the Community institutions will be subject to price increases in non-salary costs of about 3 per cent. per annum, and salary increases of about 8–8½ per cent. per annum.
