§ Mr. Greville Jannerasked the Secretary of State for the Home Department (1) in how many cases, during each of the years from 1943 to 1973 inclusive, have the accused been charged with conspiracy; and how many and what percentage of such prosecutions in each of those years resulted in acquittals;
(2) in how many and what percentage of the cases during each of the years from 1943 to 1973 inclusive in which the accused was charged with conspiracy that charge was coupled with other charges; in how many and in what percentage of such cases the accused were acquitted of both the conspiracy and such other charges; and in how many and in what percentage of such cases the accused were acquitted on the conspiracy charge but convicted on other charges; and
(3) in how many cases and in what percentage of the cases in which the accused were charged with and convicted of conspiracy during each of the years from 1943 to 1973 inclusive the convicted person was sentenced to imprisonment; in how many and in what percentage the convicted person was fined; and in how many and what percentage of cases he was put on probation.
