NOTES:

1. The figures do not relate to deputy head teachers and head teachers The 1972 maximum relates to the new grade of senior teacher.

2. The maxima include, for 1963, increments for training; and, up to 1970, the highest head of department allowance, which, from 1971, was consolidated into a new scale.
