HC Deb 09 March 1973 vol 852 c233W
Mr. Deakins

asked the Secretary of State for Trade and Industry if he will make a statement on the outcome of his recent talks with President Nixon's special adviser on trade matters.

Mr. Peter Walker

I had talks on 24th February with Ambassador Peterson, on his visit to Europe as the personal representative of President Nixon.

The discussions covered a wide range of subjects, in particular matters affecting the forthcoming international trade negotiations. These talks were part of the continuing dialogue between the United States Government on the one hand and the Government of the United Kingdom as a part of the EEC on the other, and will have contributed to a fuller understanding of common problems.
