§ Mr. Anthony RoyleNo records are kept of applicants who, following initial inquiry, are clearly not qualified for British passports. From 1st January 1971 to 28th February 1973, 67,840 applications for British (Hong Kong) passports passed the initial inquiry stage. Sixty-seven thousand, five hundred and twenty-eight of these were subsequently issued. During the same period, 2,078 United Kingdom passports were issued in Hong Kong to United Kingdom belongers.
