§ Mr. Skeetasked the Secretary of State for the Home Department if he will set up an inquiry to study the effects of drink upon the commission of crimes of violence; and whether he will take into account the effect of the consumption of alcoholic drinks before he implements the recommendations of the Erroll Report.
§ Mr. LaneMy right hon. Friend has no such inquiry in mind, but a research project on crimes of violence which is being undertaken by the Cambridge Institute of Criminology may provide some relevant information. The answer to the last part of the Question is "Yes".
