§ 26. Mr. William Sheltonasked the Secretary of State for Social Services what consultations he has had with professional associations of social workers about the employment prospects of social workers following the reorganisation of local government.
§ Sir K. JosephNone, Sir; nor am I aware of any ground for concern about employment prospects. Levels of recruitment for social workers in the local authority services have been rising, and can be expected to continue to do so, to meet the continuing expansion of the social services. Full account has been taken of the need for this increase in the rate support grant negotiations for 1973–74.
