§ 31. Mr. Ridsdaleasked the Secretary of State for Social Services what action he is taking to bring the present eight per 1,000 geriatric beds in North-East Essex up to the national goal of 10 per 1,000.
§ Mr. AlisonSixty geriatric assessment and rehabilitation beds are included in the regional hospital board's plans for the first phase of the new district general hospital at Colchester and additional beds for geriatric purposes are expected to be provided by re-allocating acute beds in existing hospitals. The board is also considering the possibility of providing geriatric beds in Clacton and Harwich.
