HC Deb 05 March 1973 vol 852 c42W
Mr. Kelley

asked the Secretary of State for Employment whether he will make a further statement in connection with the deaths of four workmen at Thorpe Marsh power station near Doncaster on Sunday 7th January 1973.

Mr. Maurice Macmillan

The coroner's inquest was resumed on 19th February 1973 and a verdict of accidental death was recorded on all four men.

Her Majesty's Factory Inspectorate has completed its investigation into the circumstances surrounding the deaths of these men and has instituted legal proceedings against the Central Electricity Generating Board for alleged breaches of safety provisions of the Electricity Regulations 1908 made under the Factories Act.
