§ Mr. Biffenasked the Secretary of State for Trade and Industry if he will list the circumstances in which the free export of British stainless steel and nickel alloy scrap will be permitted within the European Economic Community; and if he will now make a statement on the plans he has for permitting the full free export of such scrap.
§ Mr. EmeryStainless steel and other alloy steel scrap may be exported under licence within the European Community provided the scrap contains 35 per cent. or more of alloying elements. During this year and next it is intended to harmonise scrap export arrangements with the Community.
