§ Mr. Tinnasked the Secretary of State for Social Services when he expects the working group on screening for breast cancer to complete its work.
§ Mr. AlisonThe Joint Working Group on Breast Cancer Screening was set up by the Standing Medical Advisory Committee to report on ways in which trial services for population screening might 459W be put into effect. It has already recommended setting up a number of trials and three of them are now under way. The joint working group is at present considering proposals for additional trials in other areas. It will continue in being to review the progress of these trials and to make recommendations through the Standing Medical Advisory Committee in due course.
