asked the Secretary of State for Wales how many houses were built in Wales in the first five months of 1973; and how many housing starts were made, giving separate figures for the private and public sector.

During the first tour months of 1973 1,108 houses were completed in the public sector and 3,386 in the private sector, a total of 4,494. 1,015 houses were started in the public sector and 4,143 in the private sector, a total of 5,158.

Figures for May 1973 will be available very shortly.
