§ Mr. Sillarsasked the Secretary of State for Employment if he will institute an inquiry into the manner in which a number of employees were made redundant recently by the British Carpets factory at Cumnock.
§ Mr. Chichester-ClarkA manpower adviser of the Conciliation and Advisory Service of my Department has been in close touch with both the management of the company and trade union representatives and there have been joint discussions on this matter. I do not consider further inquiry would be useful.
