§ Sir Clive Bossomasked the Secretary of State for the Environment if he will draw up plans before the hot weather begins to alleviate the obnoxious smell from the chemical waste at the tip at Sutton Walls, near Hereford.
§ Mr. Eldon GriffithsI understand that following discussions with the Hereford Rural District Council the owners of the Sutton Walls tip are already undertaking a programme of improvements including more screening of the site, and spraying the tip surface to reduce any smells. It is for the local authorities to consider whether any further action is necessary in respect of any nuisance that may be caused by the use of the site for waste disposal purposes.
