§ Sir G. HoweI intend to include in the proposed consumer credit Bill provisions subjecting debt collecting firms in the consumer field to a licensing system, with licences being granted on condition that a code of business conduct laid down by regulation is observed by them.
§ Mr. Roderickasked the Secretary of State for Trade and Industry if he will seek powers to require that copies of letters sent out by debt collecting firms to debtors be sent to his Department for scrutiny.
