Mr. Ted Fletcherasked the Secretary of State for Employment if he is aware of the dispute between APEX and GEC Turbine Generators, Rugby, arising from the refusal of the firm to make any offer of a move towards equal pay for its clerical staff under the Equal Pay Act 1970 and the provision within phase 2 of the Government's counter-inflation policy for such a move to take place outside the pay limit; and if he will take steps designed to resolve this dispute.
