§ Mr. Warrenasked the Secretary of State for Trade and Industry if he will make it his policy not to drop a single action tender system for the purchase of computers by Her Majesty's Government from International Computers Limited to allow free competition with United States—owned companies without reciprocal opportunities being negotiated for British computer companies wishing to sell to the United States Government.
§ Mr. ChatawayThe Government regard the policy of acquiring certain computers by single tender action on ICL as an important part of the support needed by the company in present circumstances. There are no plans to change this policy. All relevant factors would of course be taken into account if any change were contemplated in future.
