§ Mr. Dellasked the Secretary of State for the Home Department why he has 350W had no discussions with the Law Society to ensure that legally-aided defendants in magistrates' courts who apply for bail to a judge in chambers receive assistance with their application from their solicitors, in view of the statement by the Minister of State in Standing Committee on the Criminal Justice Bill, column 1116 of 23rd March 1972.
§ Mr. CarlisleI think the right hon. Member has misunderstood what I intended. I meant to suggest that if anyone had evidence of shortcomings on the part of individual solicitors, he should take the matter up himself with the Law Society.
