§ 26. Sir J. Tilneyasked the Secretary of State for Foreign and Commonwealth Affairs if he will take steps to ensure that widows of Foreign Service personnel always have a pension.
§ Lord BalnielPensions for the widows of officers in the Diplomatic Service, into which the former Foreign Service was incorporated, are now provided under the Principal Civil Service Pension Scheme 1972. Widows' pensions had previously been provided under the Widows' and Children's Pension Scheme, introduced in 1949. Such pensions are payable subject to the conditions of these schemes.
