Mrs. Thatcher

I am pleased to announce that Mr. F. J. Hill, Chief Education Officer of West Suffolk, has agreed to be the first chairman of the new body, which will be called the Council for Educational Technology for the United Kingdom.

A draft scheme for replacing the existing council by the new body was published on 15th May 1973 and I intend, subject to the consideration of any representations made to my Department by 21st June 1973, to establish the new council on 1st October next.
