asked the Secretary of State for Trade and Industry how many British persons visit the other countries of the Community for a temporary stay each year.

The number of visits—for holiday, business, and miscellaneous purposes—lasting less than a year made by United Kingdom residents is estimated to be 5.2 million in 1972, compared with 4.9 million in 1971.
