HC Deb 12 June 1973 vol 857 c283W
Mr. Cordle

asked the Secretary of State for Social Services how much from public funds is spent annually on subsidising disabled persons in order that they may continue to live at home; and whether he will consider increasing this amount in order to reduce the numbers of such persons in residential institutions.

Mr. Alison

The cost to local authorities of providing domiciliary services in the absence of which the recipients would have to be accommodated in residential establishments—to which I assume my hon. Friend is referring—cannot be separately identified within the total cost of providing these services to all clients.
