HC Deb 24 July 1973 vol 860 c424W
Mr. Oram

asked the Secretary of State for Foreign and Commonwealth Affairs what preparations are being made for British participation in World Population Year in 1974; whether he proposes to establish a national committee for this purpose; and to what extent it will be possible for voluntary bodies with expert knowledge of population problems to play a part in any such committee.

Mr. Amery

Preparations for British participation in the World Population Year are being made through the normal interdepartmental machinery. We do not, therefore, propose to establish a national committee for this purpose. Expert voluntary bodies will have every opportunity to express their views.
