HC Deb 24 July 1973 vol 860 c440W
Mr. Robert Cooke

asked the Secretary of State for the Environment whether he has now reached conclusions on the introduction of procedures for public participation in trunk road planning.

Mr. Rippon

Yes. The consultation paper which my right hon. and learned Friend the Secretary of State for Wales and I issued last March has been well received and we have now decided to adopt the proposed procedure for public participation, with some modifications, as a regular stage in trunk road planning. Copies of an announcement which analyses the results of the consultation and sets out the new procedure in detail are available in the Library.
