Ports (Tonnage Throughput)

Mr. S. James A. Hill

asked the Secretary of State for Trade and Industry if he will list the top 10 ports of the United Kingdom in tonnage throughput terms, both inward and outward total tonnages.

Following is the information for 1971. The figures given include both foreign and coastwise trade:

asked the Secretary of State for Trade and Industry when he proposes to issue licences for oil and gas exploration in the area of the Channel and the Western Approaches; and whether he will make a statement.

Mr. Tom Boardman

No decision on this has yet been taken in regard to production licences, but non-exclusive exploration licences for designated areas are available.
