HC Deb 24 July 1973 vol 860 cc549-50W
Mr. Carter-Jones

asked the Secretary of State for Social Services if he will revise the limit on the £800 for allowances for disabled persons to take into account inflation since the figure was selected, in view of the hardship caused to surviving relatives by the implementation of this rule; and if he will make a statement.

Mr. Dean

If, as I assume, the hon. Member is concerned with the capital disregard for supplementary benefit purposes, I would refer him to my remarks on the subject of disregards in the Second Reading debate on the National Insurance and Supplementary Benefit Bill.—[Vol. 855, c. 858.]

If the hon. Member has a particular case in mind I shall be glad to look into it.
