HC Deb 24 July 1973 vol 860 cc401-2W
Q10. Mr. John Grant

asked the Prime Minister if he will define the allocation of duties to Ministers for the Civil Service Department.

The Prime Minister

My noble Friend the Lord Privy Seal is directly responsible to me as Minister for the Civil Service for the work of the Civil Service Department, including day-to-day questions in relation to the Civil Service generally.

One of the Parliamentary Secretaries supervises specific areas of the Department's work, and is responsible for Her Majesty's Stationery Office and the Central Office of Information. The other Parliamentary Secretary supervises the co-ordination of Government information services and advises Ministers generally on the presentation of policy.
