asked the Minister of Agriculture, Fisheries and Food what is the amount of New Zealand butter consumed in this country in the latest available 12-month period; whether New Zealand butter will qualify for the new butter tokens; and what quantity of butter is expected to be imported in 1974.

With regard to the first part of this Question, I would refer my hon. Friend to the reply I gave on 17th July 1973 to the hon. Member for Walthamstow, West (Mr. Deakins)—[Vol. 860, c.98–9.] In accordance with the provisions of Protocol 18, about 156,000 tons of New Zealand butter may be imported in 1978 on the special terms provided for.
