§ 33. Mr. Jayasked the Secretary of State for Trade and Industry what is the Government's estimate of the cost of building at Heathrow the extra passenger terminals and other handling facilities needed for using the airport to full capacity.
§ Mr. Michael HeseltineThe British Airports Authority plans to spend approximately £75 million on terminal facilities at Heathrow and Gatwick to cater for the increased volume of traffic expected up to 1980. No detailed estimates have so far been made of costs that would be incurred at either of these airports to cater for an increased demand beyond 1980, but this is a point which will be considered in the promised report on the Maplin project.
