§ 10. Mr. Ifor Daviesasked the Secretary of State for Wales if he will give details of derelict land schemes in the Gower constituency which have been held up due to the cutback in expenditure; and if he will make a statement.
§ 17. Mr. Jeffrey Thomasasked the Secretary of State for Wales what financial provision was made for the current financial year with regard to derelict land schemes; how much has been spent or allocated; and if he will make a statement.
§ Mr. Peter ThomasThe grant provision for the reclamation of derelict land in Wales made in the Supply Estimates for 1973–74 is £1.7 million. Of this, about £0.5 million has so far been paid to local authorities. There has been no cutback in the resources available for derelict land reclamation in Wales and this year more money will be spent for this purpose than ever before. Schemes are now coming forward much faster and more elaborately than previously and I am considering what action should be taken. Five schemes in the constituency of the hon. Member for Gower (Mr. Ifor Davies) are now under consideration.
