Mr. Arthur Lewisasked the Secretary of State for Trade and Industry whether he is aware that papers and documents concerning a public company, details of which have been supplied to him, were on the public file on 13th, 14th and 15th June, but that these were missing on 18th June, what are the results of his investigations into these missing papers; why he has had to have duplicates provided to him by a private company; and whether he will make a statement.
§ Sir G. HoweI am aware of these matters. The company concerned is a private company. The documents in question disappeared from the public file while it was being inspected by the public and have not yet been found. The duplicates could be provided only by the company itself.
