Mr. William Price

asked the Secretary of State for Social Services what percentage of the gross national product is currently spent on health; and what was the figure for each of the last 10 years.

The proportion of the gross national product spent on the health and personal social services in 1972–73 is estimated to be 56 per cent. For the preceding 10 years the corresponding figures are as follows:
