HC Deb 18 July 1973 vol 860 c146W
Mr. McNamara

asked the Secretary of State for Employment what estimates his Department has made of the number of men and women in the principal distant water fishing ports engaged in the maintenance and construction of distant water trawlers, the manning of vessels and the sale and distribution of fish and ancillary trades which will be adversely affected if the Icelandic Government are successful in establishing fishing limits of 50 miles; and if he will make a statement.

Mr. Dudley Smith

It is not possible to quantify the employment effects of this hypothetical development.
