Mr. Dykesasked the Secretary of State for Social Services what examination his Department has made of the feasibility of providing hydraulic chairs, either direct or through the local authority social service departments, to severely disabled registered persons where the medical evidence indicates that such equipment is necessary.
§ Mr. AlisonProvision by local authorities of chairs with tilting or elevating seats is a matter for their discretion. The Department does not at present supply56W wheelchairs which incorporate these features but the position is reviewed from time to time.
