Mr. David Cozens-Hardy Hirst, QC, MA, and Mr. Richard Norman Darbey Langdon, FCA, were appointed on 10th July 1973 under Section 165 (b) of the Companies Act 1948 to act as Inspectors to investigate the affairs of First Re-investment Trust Ltd. and Nelson Financial Trust Ltd. and to report thereon.

Their inquiries started right away.
