§ Sir John Tilneyasked the Secretary of State for Foreign and Commonwealth Affairs how much money Her Majesty's Government have given in aid to Hong Kong in each of the last three years.
§ Mr. WoodBritish aid to Hong Kong for the financial years 1970–71, 1971–72 and 1972–73 was, respectively, £86,000, £397,000 and £166,000. My hon. Friend the Under-Secretary of State for Foreign and Commonwealth Affairs also announced in Hong Kong in November 1972 that Her Majesty's Government would give £500,000 for books and equipment for the new polytechnic, as well as £400,000 which had previously been agreed for technical institutes.
